What are cookies?
Small temporary text files stored on your computer or mobile device to ensure the proper functioning of a website, containing information about the websites you visited. Cookies make internet use easier for the user; for example, when logging into your user profile on a website, the browser can suggest your username. Cookies are also used for other purposes, such as allowing website owners to gain more information about their visitors’ interests.
How do we use cookies?
The language center “MIRTE” uses Google Analytics services, providing information about our services in search engines. This service requires cookies to be stored on your device.
Cookies store information that you visited our website, when it happened, your IP address, and which website sections were viewed. This information is transmitted to Google Inc. (Ireland) and stored on Google servers (in the European Union and the USA) for 60 days. Before data transfer to Google, IP addresses are anonymized and replaced with a specific code assigned to each individual user.
Google ensures that its data processing, including data transfer to third parties, complies with EU and US regulations, and specifically states that the received data is not used to provide Google services.
You can prevent cookies from being sent to Google by using the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” (see Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on).
How to control cookies?
You can delete cookies from your computer or other device and use the settings offered by most browsers to prevent cookie creation.
Practically all browsers allow you to:
- View and delete stored cookies;
- Block cookies from third parties;
- Block cookies from marketing sites;
- Block all cookies;
- Delete all cookies upon exiting the browser.
Remember that deleting all cookies will also remove your settings on individual websites. Additionally, if you block any cookie creation, many websites (including ours) may not function correctly, and service delivery may be interrupted. For this reason, we do not recommend choosing the option to block all cookies.
